Celebrity Wedding Designer Jerri Woolworth doesn’t like the term “wedding coordinator.” The image of someone running around at the wedding venue with a clipboard and a pencil in their hair is hardly the picture that Jerri wants her clients to think of when they talk to her. While, yes, all details are executed to perfection, Jerri Woolworth is more appropriately labeled an event designer or an “event artist.” Jerri Woolworth has been “painting” beautiful red carpet events, luxury weddings, and out-of-this-world corporate events for some of the country’s most discerning clients and biggest names.
At an early age, Jerri learned the graceful art of hospitality and entertaining. Born in Chicago, she grew up between the lights of the big city and the farms of rural Champaign, Illinois. Surrounded by corn and bean fields, Jerri learned the value of hard work and good planning. Her father taught her that if you work hard, with heart and soul, you will reap a great harvest. Jerri started sowing and reaping into her event planning career in 1991 and has spent the next 20+ years planning weddings and special events, first in the corporate hotel and hospitality setting and then in her own luxury event planning business. She started as the Director of Catering and Conference services in her city’s most prestigious hotel and, since then, has had the honor of working with 4 and 5 diamond hotels in Southern California, Nashville Tennessee, and on the East Coast. The hotel environment taught Jerri the operations side of the business and how to make world-class events work from the ground up. Armed with 17 years of experience, Jerri launched her own firm in 2008.
Since then, Jerri has designed and planned events ranging in size from 15 to 15,000+ people and has produced many high-profile weddings and social events. She has designed and produced corporate events such as grand openings, national media press conferences, product launches, and corporate board meetings. Jerri has worked with many charitable organizations to produce fundraising galas, live & silent auctions, and golf tournaments. She has had the honor of working with every type of organization including The Boy Scouts of America, the NFL, NHL, and American Heart Association and was executive producer for a statewide outdoor concert festival featuring country legend Lee Greenwood. She has produced top-tier red carpet events for the Country Music Associations annual (CMA) awards by designing pre & post parties attended by hundreds of celebrity guests, national media, for the country’s most recognized record labels. She has worked with the most discerning clients, including being selected to plan and produce events for US Presidents’ George W. Bush and Barack Obama, working closely with the secret service. She has also planned events for Governors and First Ladies. All of these experiences have given Jerri a priceless in-depth knowledge into all types of luxury events.
The international wedding and event community has recognized Jerri’s work on multiple occasions and, in 2008, Jerri had the honor and privilege of being selected by Wedding Style Magazine to be among the list of top wedding professionals from around the world to be featured in the magazine and online. In 2010, Jerri’s designs were also featured in the hardcover book “Being in Love Never Goes Out of Style” by style icon, Founder and Executive Editor of Wedding Style Magazine, Grace Ormond. Jerri is honored to have been rated a Platinum Member for Wedding Style Magazine for multiple years, placing her among the industry elite.
While Jerri is clearly an expert in the industry and has worked with distinguished clients creating unforgettable events, she hasn’t forgotten what her father taught her: if you work hard, with heart and soul, you will reap a bountiful harvest. Because, as Jerri says, “Memorable events don’t just happen.”
