Over the next few weeks, I want to take a look back at some of my most favorite events that I’ve designed over the past years.  I’ve had the honor of being a part of some amazing events. I have worked with some amazing people. I have seen some beautiful weddings come together. The most exciting part, for me, is seeing a vision – a dream – become a reality. To see what was first in my head and in my imagination come together to create an unforgettable wedding, party, or event.

I had the honor of designing the wedding of one of my dearest friends Annelise. She is such a treasure to me and deserved the most beautiful wedding in the world (except mine, heehee). From the beginning to the end, this wedding was fashion! The dress was designer, the cake was top-tier, and the getaway car was fabulous. I rarely comment about my least favorite part of a wedding but this wedding had one: I gave a little gasp when she threw the bouquet off the balcony – it was one of my favorites and that was such a long way for it to fall! 🙂

A Few of My Favorite Things – Fairtytale Wedding

This wedding that I did for the Germains was one word: magical! The bride was so fun and whimsical, she wanted to make sure that her wedding reflected just that! From the cake to the place settings, the music to the vows, everything was done in such a fun way it felt right out of a fairytale.
The challenge with this event was making sure that the fun and whimsy of the day was balanced proportionally with the fine taste for luxury that the bride and groom both have. Using deep earth tones, champagne bridesmaids dresses, and soft, not-too-fairytale lighting, we were able to create an event that felt like neverland and ended with happily ever after for this beautiful couple.

The title of this posts is “My Favorite Things – Red and Gold” and isn’t that the truth! Red and gold are some of my favorite colors to design with because of the natural luxury that comes with them. Using deep reds combined with sparkling golds creates a natural luxury feel and works a lot more naturally than I would have originally thought! Using this inspiration, I put together a great event that’s perfect for this end of Autumn season. The whole event was great, but my favorite by far was the hot chocolate bar we put together for this chilly night. Everyone (not just the kids) enjoyed it!
